Cuiaba has been chosen to be one of the cities to represent Brazil in the World Cup 2014

FIFA announced the group of 12 host cities for the World Cup 2014 in Brazil.
FIFA’s president, Joseph Blatter, started saying at 2h30 p.m. (Cuiaba, local time) and in alphabetical order, he said the names.

Verdão Stadium or “Governador José Fragelli Stadium” will be demolished until the end of this year. Then, the building of the new stadium will start according to the project. When the new Verdão is done it’ll be able to receive 48,453 guests and 3,000 places in the parking lot. Cuiabá has, today, about 540,000 inhabitants and is going to be the official representative from Pantanal. Besides, projects like the new changes and improvements in the local traffic, subway projects, enlargement of the international airport are also included in the whole program.

And the cities are: Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Cuiaba, Curitiba, Fortaleza, Manaus, Natal, Porto Alegre, Recife, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador and Sao Paulo.
